LAHORE (Web Desk) - Renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri's last Kalam during Wednesday's Sehri transmisson on Samaa TV got extremely emotional. The Sufi singer broke into tears during the transmission, hours before he was shot dead in Karachi’s Liaquatabad area yesterday,

According to initial reports, two armed men fired at Sabri’s car today as it was passing by Liaquatabad. He was later pronounced dead at hospital.

Sabri was a locally and internationally renowned mystical Sufi qawwal, and son of the one of the founding members of the Sabri brothers, Ghulam Farid Sabri.

Amjad Sabri, Ghulam Sabri's son, later took on the mantle of his father and uncle after the latter's death in Karachi in 2011.
