India takes no time to breathe or investigate before blaming Pakistan for Baramulla attack
Just few hours after the latest attack on camps in Baramulla in Occupied Kashmir, Indian media, maintaining its conventional propagandist journalism has already started running unconfirmed reports about the attack, suggesting the terrorists entered India from Pakistan.

Linking it with the concurrent exchange of fire in the Akhnoor sector, NDTV reported "Sources said the terrorists are suspected to have entered India across the Jhelum river."

Zee News, while describing the attack as a direct retaliation of the so called surgical strikes, came down to even more lower levels by giving threats to Pakistan live on TV.

The latest baseless allegations come amid the escalated tensions between the two countries. India claimed it carried out Surgical strikes in a bid to retaliate for the Uri attack.

However, Pakistan dismissed the claim that Indian forces conducted a surgical strike on Pakistani side of Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Kashmir violating the 2003 ceasefire treaty.

Following the refusal from UN to confirm the Indian claims of ‘surgical strikes’, Pakistan Army on Saturday took independent journalists to the Line of Control (LoC) at Baghsir 20 kilometers from Bhimber to show the situation on ground.

“The area is such that infiltration by Indian forces is impossible and the area is monitored in such a way that even movement of wildlife does not go undetected,”Geo News’ Zarghoon Shah reported.

India claimed it filmed surgical strikes, but despite strong rebuttal and growing suspicion over its claims, India has yet to release any footage to substantiate its claims.

Secretary General UN, Ban Ki-moon’s spokesperson Stephane Dujarric also on Saturday rejected the Indian claims.

Dujarric said “The UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) has not directly observed any firing across the LoC related to the latest incidents.”

When asked to explain how UNMOGIP can say it did not observe any firing even as India said it has conducted the surgical strikes, Dujarric repeated that UNMOGIP has not “directly observed” any of the firing.

Rupee gains massive recovery against US dollar after SBP relaxes rules for banks

KARACHI – The Pakistani rupee experienced a significant surge in its value in the open market against the dollar.

This surge came after a recent directive from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), allowing banks to purchase dollars at the interbank market rate for international card payments. The objective of this move was to narrow the exchange rate gap between the official and informal markets.

According to the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, the currency market witnessed the dollar being traded at Rs298, compared to its previous day’s closing rate of 311.

The SBP’s decision was influenced by the International Monetary Fund’s demand for Pakistan to stabilize its currency market before resuming a $6.5 billion bailout program.

In a circular, the central bank stated, “In response to the feedback received from various stakeholders, Authorized Dealers are now permitted to buy USD from the Interbank market to settle card-based cross border transactions with international payment schemes (IPS).”

Market analysts had predicted a decline in the value of the rupee following the implementation of these new guidelines.

Zafar Paracha, the General Secretary of the ECAP, expressed that the SBP’s decision was timely and appropriate. He anticipated that it would lead to a decrease of 20 to 25 rupees in the open market currency rate. Paracha also noted that aligning the rates in the official and informal markets would bolster remittance inflows.

Pracha further emphasized that significant disparities in rates between the official and informal markets encourage transactions outside of the official banking system.
