Maryam fires broadside at Imran over ‘cuts in defence budget’
LAHORE – The daughter of former PM, Maryam Nawaz Sharif Tuesday once again targeted Prime Minister Imran Khan for his “incompetence & sheer ineptitude” to run the country’s affairs as her father did during his time at the top office.

Maryam, who after her father's detention over Panama Papers leaks has emerged as the second most powerful leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N after her uncle Shehbaz Sharif, was responding to a tweet by the premier, in which he appreciated the military's unprecedented voluntary initiative of stringent cuts in their defence expenditures for next fiscal year because of the country's critical financial situation.

“This tweet is nothing but an admission of your incompetence & sheer ineptitude,” the vice-president of of PML-N wrote on her Twitter handle.

“MNS [Muhammad Nawaz Sharif] as PM catered to all the needs of the Armed Forces which included salary increases etc plus purchases for new equipment & development & training which is crucial to their preparedness. This is the difference between competence & incompetence that you personify,” the tweet added.

Imran Khan has announced that his PTI government will spend this money saved on devolution of merged tribal areas and Balochistan.
