LAHORE: Consumers are facing problems after the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) directed commercial banks to not accept old US$100 notes.

As a result of the move, the value of the currency has decreased by Rs 2 to 3 per dollar.

A bank official told Daily Pakistan that his branch is in possession of at least 25000 old US$100 dollar notes, but the SBP had refused to accept them.

The SBP had neither warned consumers nor issued any circular blocking the use of old US$100 notes.
