ISLAMABAD (News Desk) – Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will create tens of thousands of jobs in Pakistan.

In an interview with Chinese state news, he said the project would bring tangible benefits to local people if completed according to plan.

The Ambassador said the under-construction CPEC projects had already employed more than 6,000 Pakistani workers since the end of March.

He said a number of projects had been launched focusing on energy and transport infrastructure to meet Pakistan’s immediate developmental needs.
