PESHAWAR (Staff Report) –  For the first time in last one decade the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has finally released 30 per cent development budget to the district governments.

Presiding over a meeting in Peshawar, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak asked the local government representatives to implement Annual Development Programme in their respective districts.

He also directed training of twenty thousand youth in different skills for better utilization of resources including minerals.

It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that under new local bodies laws only KPK government has directly given away development budget to district governments. In all other provinces and Islamabad, the monetary affairs stay in the hands of provincial governments and CAD ministry.
