Rs. 90,976.6 mln loan disbursed to farmers during 2015-16 : ZTBL

ISLAMABAD - Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has disbursed loans of Rs. 90,976.6 million during 2015-16 to facilitate farmers and increase agricultural produce.

Of the total loan disbursement, Rs. 74,297.6 million was provided to farmers in Punjab, Rs. 12,197.2 million in Sindh, Rs. 3,624.3 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Rs. 248.9 million in Balochistan, Rs. 312.6 million in Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Rs. 296 million were disbursed amongst farmers of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Data issued by the Statistics Division on Tuesday showed that the Federal government had increased agricultural credit availability to Rs. 600 billion.

During July 2015 to June 2016, banks have disbursed agricultural loans of Rs. 598.3 billion which is 99.7 per cent of the annual target of Rs. 600 billion, marking a 16 per cent growth from last year's disbursement of Rs. 515.9 billion.
