COAS Bajwa calls Corps Commanders meeting amid border tension
RAWALPINDI - Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has called a meeting of Corps Commanders during the upcoming week to discuss the border situation and other important issues.

Local media reported that the high ups of army will hold consultation over the ongoing border situation along Afghanistan, and will also reviewing the progress of operation Raddul Fassad and national security.

Earlier this month, Afghan forces had opened fire along border areas killing ten Pakistani civilians and injured 42 others. Pakistan forces gave a befitting response and claimed to have killed over fifty Afghan soldiers. The situation between both countries has remained stiff ever since the attack.

The situation at Line of Control has also not normalised due to unprovoked firing by the Indian forces on innocent citizens of Kashmir.

The issue of suspending the execution of India spy Kulbhushan Jadev by the International Court of Justice would be made part of the core commanders’ conference.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) stayed the execution of RAW agent Kulbhushan Jadhav and ordered providing consular access to him here on Thursday.

Jadhav was arrested on March 3, 2016, through a counter-intelligence operation in Balochistan’s Mashkel area for his alleged involvement in espionage and sabotage activities against Pakistan. He was sentenced to death by the FGCM in April this year.

The meeting of Army Promotion Board would also be held next week.
