RAWALPINDI (Staff Report) – Corps Commanders conference held here on Wednesday was chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif.

The forum took an in-depth review of the internal security situation and discussed professional matters, ISPR news release stated here.

Condemning Indian brutal killings of innocent Kashmiri youth, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif reiterated that the world needs to recognise the aspirations of Kashmiri people, their struggle for freedom and help resolve the long-standing dispute for lasting amity in Kashmir and enduring peace in the region.

COAS Raheel appreciated the relentless efforts of Intelligence and Law Enforcement Agencies towards ensuring peace and security during Eid days in the face of numerous threats.

The external security situation was comprehensively discussed with particular emphasis on the situation in Afghanistan.

To scrutinise cross-border movement and ensure the strict check on terrorist’s movement, the forum reviewed the progress of measures being taken for effective border management.
