The decision came hours after provincial government wrote a letter to federation surrendering services of police chief to centre.

The provincial government suggested three names, including Abdul Majeed, Ghulam Qadir Thebo and Khadim Hussain Bhatti, for the new Inspector General.

However, according to a notification issued, Sardar Abdul Majeed has been appointed as acting I.G Sindh.

Allah Dino Khawaja has been asked to report to establishment division in this regard.

The police official remained in limelight ever since PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari decided to return home after ending self-exile.
