ISLAMABAD – India is violated ceasefire more than 90 times this year at Line of Control, the Pakistan’s Foreign Office said on Monday.
“During 2016, India violated ceasefire more than 90 times. This must stop,” Nafees Zakaria said in a tweet.
Zakaria said that Pakistan has never violated the ceasefire agreement and that ceasefire violations have always been misreported by Indian media.
He said that almost 90 percent reports of Indian media, in connection with the Line of Control (LoC), were false. The FO further said that almost 90 percent news being run by Indian media is misleading, baseless and fake.
Pakistan Army on Sunday responded in a befitting manner to the unprovoked firing from across the LoC.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Indian troops carried out firing in Khoiratta (Bhimber) sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir along the LoC.
“Exchange of fire which started at 04:30 hours and lasted until 0700 hours”, ISPR in a news release stated. There was no loss reported, due to the unprovoked firing by Indian troops.
The Spokesman said that Pakistan believes in a peaceful neighbourhood, and Pakistan had always responded to firing initiated by India at the LoC.
