PM Imran Khan expresses best wishes for president Arif Alvi
ISLAMABAD - In his felicitation message, the Prime Minister expressed good wishes to the new president in discharging his responsibilities and duties under the constitution.

The prime minister also shared a picture of his youth days with the president.

Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Muhammad Qasim Khan Suri have congratulated Dr Arif Alvi on his election as 13th President of the country.

In their separate messages, they said Avli's election indicates the confidence and trust of leadership, members of National Assembly, Senate of Pakistan and Provincial Assemblies reposed in his acumen and capabilities. They said the election of new President is another step towards the smooth transfer of power in democratic dispensation which is a good omen for democracy in the country.

Federal Ministers Fawad Chaudhary and Shah Mehmood Qureshi have also congratulated Dr Arif Alvi on his election as President of Pakistan.

In his felicitation message, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary said that his election as president of Pakistan is a positive sign for the Federation of Pakistan.

He said Dr Arif Alvi belongs to an educated and religious family and he, as president of Pakistan, will strengthen the pillars of the federation. He said the newly elected President will perform his duties according to the constitution of Pakistan in the best way.

The minister also felicitated the opposition parties for taking part in the presidential election.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Dr Alvi has stood by Prime Minister Imran Khan and has been committed to the struggle for a Naya Pakistan from the very beginning. He hoped he will prove to be a worthy President.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has felicitated Dr Arif Alvi on being elected country’s 13th President.

In a statement, the Governor said that the president’s election marks the achievement of another milestone of a democratic process.

He said that Dr Arif Alvi’s election will further strengthen the democracy and development process in the country.

The governor also thanked the allied parties for voting for PTI candidate.

Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Usman Buzdar has also congratulated the PTI candidate Arif Alvi on his success in the Presidential election.

In a statement, the Chief Minister said his victory is the success of democracy and democratic forces.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Jam Kamal Khan has greeted Dr Arif Alvi on his success in the Presidential election.

In a greeting message, Jam Kamal expressed the hope that newly elected President would play his constitutional role for promotion of unity among all stakeholders.

Rupee exchange rate to US Dollar, Euro, Pound, Dirham, and Riyal - 18 April 2024

Pakistani currency continues to gain against US Dollar and other currencies on April 18, 2024. US dollar was being quoted at 277.2 for buying and 280.3 for selling.

Euro comes down to 293 for buying and 296 for selling while British Pound stands at 342.25 for buying, and 345.65 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED was at 75.25 and Saudi Riyal's new rates was at 73.30.
