PM Nawaz Sharif condemns suicide attack in Kabul

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday strongly condemned the suicide car bomb blast in Kabul that killed over 20 people.

The prime minister expressed sympathies with the government and people of Afghanistan over the terrorist incident.

At least 24 people were killed and several others injured after a suicide car bomb exploded in western Kabul on Monday, local media reported quoting an Interior Ministry spokesperson.

As per reports, the suicide attacker, who was driving the car, exploded himself along with the vehicle near the residence of the deputy government Chief Executive Mohammad Mohaqiq.

Most of the people live in this area belong to Shia Hazara community, but the authorities are of the view that target of the blast is not clear yet.

After the incident, the police have cordoned off the area while the injured have been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

No militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
