QUETTA – At least six security personnel were martyred and two others injured on Monday evening in a rocket attack by unidentified armed men in Awaran district of Balochistan.

The rocket was fired from the mountains on a team of bomb disposal squad which was searching in the Kure area, located 30 kilometres from Tehsil Mashkay area of Awaran.

A contingent of security forces rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies and the injured to a nearby health facility.

The six martyred security personnel have been identified as Hawaldar Shabbir, Sepoy Sheraz, Sepoy Bashir, Sepoy Sharaj, Sepoy Allah Nawaz and Sepoy Abid. Two injured include Sepoy Ehsan and
Rashid.

Earlier, Four Sindhi labourers working on the construction of a road were killed by suspected militants in Balochistan’s Kharan area.
