JHELUM – Cheif Minister Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif Punjab declared on Thursday that reconciliation between Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’ supreme leader, Nawaz Sharif and former interior minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was necessary.
Addressing the audience in Jhelum city of Punjab, the incumbent president of ruling PML-N expressed that Chaudhry Nisar was still a friend, assuring that he will issue party ticket to former security czar, using his position.
The chief minister said that he could not disclose the differences between Nawaz Sharif and Ch Nisar at the moment adding that senior party leaders were making serious efforts to mend the ties between the politicians.
Earlier, last month, Ch Nisar had announced contesting the upcoming elections from the NA-59, PP-10 and PP-14 constituencies, however, he avoided disclosing whether he would contest as an independent or as a member of PML-N.
According to media reports, the Pindiite has not met Nawaz Sharif for months, however, in a recent press conference, the lawmaker revealed that he was still a part of the party.
“I stand with the PML-N, but not the party where freedom of expressing differences is a crime. Someone should tell me when I showed disloyalty to the PML-N?” asked the PML-N bigwig,” Nisar had said.
Thanking PTI leaders for inviting him to join their party, the PML-N leader said that it was an honour for him, but could not part ways with PML-N. He asserted that he was the only founding member who was still attached to the party.
