BANNU (Staff Report) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that present government has launched a number of mega projects to make a new Pakistan while those chanting slogans for new Pakistan could not even deliver in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

Addressing a public meeting in Bannu, the Prime Minister said the masses should differentiate between those who are pursuing development agenda and those who are doing politics of anarchy and chaos.  He said PTI Government was claiming for a new Khyber Pakhtunkhawa but he said he did not see it anywhere.

The Prime Minister said the Supreme Court declared that no rigging had taken place in the general elections 2013 which was a slap on the face of those alleging for rigging.  He said those claiming for rigging did not apologies.  He said now a days they are again putting allegations.

The Prime Minister said they again left the matter to the Supreme Court.  He said if a corruption of a single penny is proved against us, they will at once go home.

He said they have come to power with the mandate of the people and are not afraid of the hollow slogans and cheap tactics of their opponents.

The Prime Minister said they have not government in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and but they will continue to serve the people of the province.  He said those who had blown trumpets of prosperity in the general elections of 2013,  have done nothing for the development of the province.

Nawaz Sharif said China Pakistan Economic Corridor will change the destiny of the region.  It will benefit the whole of the country including Bannu.

He reiterated that loadshedding will come to end in 2018.  He said the Government is also focusing on provision of cheap electricity to the people.  He said power is being supplied to all the industries round the clock.  He said gas shortage will also be overcome.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister announced establishment of University in Lukki Marwat and industrial and economic zones in Bannu.  He said this will bring prosperity and provide employment opportunities.

He said Baran Dam will be rehabilitated and capacity of the Bannu power plant will be enhanced.  He announced rehabilitation and repair of Indus Highway.  He also announced that Bannu airport will be upgraded to international standard.  He said passport offices are being established in Karak and Lukki Marwat.

He announced a grant of two hundred million for District and Tehsil councils of Bannu.



The Prime Minister said the IDPs have sacrifices for peace in the country and work for their rehabilitation will be speeded up.

Addressing the public meeting, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehaman said the incumbent government has speeded up development projects in backward areas, which were neglected in the past.

He said the Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa government is neglecting the province, and let alone new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the conditions in the province have become worse.

Maulana Fazlar-ur-Rehaman said PTI leaders who demand resignation of Prime Minister, also possess offshore companies and assets abroad.

He demanded across the board accountability of all and rejected demand for holding only Prime Minister accountable.

Pakistani rupee rate against US Dollar, Euro, Pound, Riyal - Check 14 April forex rates

Pakistani currency remains unchanged against US dollar and other currencies in open market on April 14, 2024.

US Dollar rate in Pakistan

On Sunday, the US dollar was being quoted at 277.5 for buying and 280.5 for selling.

Euro was quoted at 299.95 for buying and 302.9 for selling while British Pound stands at 349.5 for buying, and 353 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED was at 75.45 and Saudi Riyal's new rates was at 73.30.
