Three policemen martyred in attack on Gilgit checkpost

HUNZA – Three police personnel were martyred and others injured as unidentified persons stormed a check post in Kargah, an area in Gilgit city, Friday night, local media reported.

Two terrorists, whose identities are yet to be known, were killed in the retaliatory firing. Following the incident the police have launched search operation in the area.

During the cross firing, some police officials were also injured who have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Gilgit.

Attack on Education: Unknown persons storm 12 girls’ schools in Gilgit-Baltistan

The terror attack happened days after unknown attackers stormed girls schools in Chilas, area situated at a distance of 130 kilometres from GB.

According to police, some unknown men attacked some 12 girls’ schools in Chilas on Thursday night, adding that the supects made educational institutes across Diamer district their target and had damaged their property.

The attackers had also torched some items in the schools, sources informed, adding that explosions were also set off in two schools.
