SARGODHA – Two suspected kidnappers were killed on Saturday in a bid to recover a hostage in a village near Sargodha, police said.

A heavy contingent of police raided in village 21 Janoobi (south) after a tip-off. The police said that the kidnappers opened fire and they retaliated.

As a result, the two criminals were gunned down, while their other two accomplices managed to flee from the spot. “The body of a hostage was also found from their residence,” police added.

The deceased Atif Nazir was kidnapped on August 16. The identity of the alleged kidnappers could not be ascertained so far.
