ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has said that officials of the London Metropolitan Police will arrive this week to investigate the three key suspects held in Pakistan pertaining to murder of MQM leader Imran Farooq.

He said that government is in touch with the UK government through diplomatic means and Pakistan has informed them about the arrest of suspects.

“Moazzam Ali Khan was arrested by Rangers in Karachi two months ago while two accused Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim were arrested by Frontier Constabulary near Quetta,” he added.

Nisar said that all the three accused are detained under the anti-terrorism act, adding it is not yet decided whether interrogation would be held directly or indirectly.

He also said that the investigation of the case has nothing to do with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

He said that the next plan of action is to bring all the three accused to Islamabad so that they can be investigated by a team of London Metropolitan Police.

“The request of London police was pending since more than a year,” he held.

About Ayyan Ali, he said that the case is under investigation by customs intelligence and FIA has nothing to do with the case.

“The case is of very high importance for us. It is important to know that where the money came from and who was behind it,” he said.

Nisar said he is scheduled to have an important meeting with Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss the latest developments in Ayyan Ali case.
