Dilip Kumar conferred with Padma Vibhushan award

MUMBAI (Staff Report) - Legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar was Monday conferred with the Padma Vibhushan award at a special function held at his Mumbai residence.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh presented him the award.

The 93-year-old Dilip Kumar maintains his original name as Muhammad Yousuf Khan and was born in 1922 in Peshawar, the north western city of Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The announcement of Padma Vibhushan award for Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and several other veteran actors was made on January 25, 2015 on the account of India's Republic Day.

However he failed to receive the award from President Pranab Mukherjee in a special function held in Rashtrapati Bhavan in April this year.
