Filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy receives honorary degree

LAHORE: Canadian-Pakistani filmmaker and activist, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has time and time again made a name for Pakistan on international forum.

Now, she has been awarded with an honorary degree from USA based institute Smith College.

Sharmeen was awarded the degree for for her amazing efforts in the field of documentary journalism  and in the struggle to advance human rights. In 2002 she received a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Government from the university.

Pakistan's two-time Academy Award winner released the nation's first virtual reality film series titled, 'Look But With Love' last year. The documentary is a five-part series  and is meant to be played at the upcoming 55th New York Film Festival.
