Irrfan Khan is responding well to his treatment: Director Shoojit Sircar

MUMBAI - Two months in after Irrfan Khan's ongoing treatment, Director Shoojit Sircar has spoken to Mumbai Mirror confirming that Irrfan is responding well to his treatment. Shoojit is also hopeful that they can start working on Udham Singh's biopic by the end of the year. The biopic stars Irrfan Khan as the lead.

Mr. Sircar said, "I’ve been speaking to both Irrfan and his wife (Sutapa Sikdar), he’s responding well to the treatment and trying to cope with the knowledge that he’s battling neuroendocrine tumour by treating the recuperation in Europe like a short and unexpected holiday. I’m planning to visit him next month. We hope to roll by the year-end (the Udham Singh biopic), but will wait till Irrfan is ready to shoot.'

Earlier in March, the actor has revealed about his illness on twitter. Irrfan Khan has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour.

Besides Udham Singh's biopic, Irrfan Khan is also playing lead in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film opposite Deepika Padukone.
