Khaled Hosseini's book 'Sea Prayer' tribute to Syrian boy Alan Kurdi

LONDON - Worldwide known author Khaled Hosseini’s new book “Sea Prayer” is a tribute to Alan Kurdi, the three-year-old Syrian boy whose body washed up on the beach in Turkey in September 2015. The book will hit the shelves on 30th August in U.K and on 18th September in the U.S.

The book writer shared this news with his fans through a heartfelt post on his Instagram account.

The Afghan-American author, after seeing the haunting image was compelled to write about the Syrian Boy, Alan Kurdi. Written in the form of a letter, “Sea Prayer” is a father’s reflection as he watches over his sleeping son, on the dangerous journey across the sea that lies before them. The author took to his official Instagram account sharing the details of his upcoming book.

“All of my proceeds from this book will benefit refugees through UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and the work of The Khaled Hosseini Foundation. I thank all of you for your support, loyalty, and kindness” shared Hosseini.

Hosseini has three internationally famous books to his credit, The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns and And The Mountains Echoed. He was also appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador by UNHCR in 2006. Publishers of the book, Bloomsbury will be donating a pound to UNHCR for every book sold.
