KARACHI: Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s harassment claims on the AKUH doctor (for sending her sister a friend request on Facebook) have lead to many reactions among the Pakistani community. People have been divided on the matter and have shared their views on social media.
Recently, joining the list of growing celebrity reactions on the matter, Mahira Khan shared her views on the controversy on Geo News’ morning show ‘Geo Pakistan’.
“If you have power to utilise a platform for good then you should. A doctor who takes your info and then adds you on a social media platform is breaking a code of conduct. It is unprofessional,” said Mahira.
She further voiced her opinions on whether this was a harassment case or just an unethical move on the doctor’s part, and also how being famous affects you on a personal level, saying, “If someone raised their concern it should be paid heed to. Faceless people talking about things harshly, abusing you and your family does take its toll, no matter how famous you are.”
The Verna actor also had a situation of her own a few weeks ago. She said that people from the entertainment industry are always in the spotlight , and often their situations become ‘a source of entertainment for others.’
