FAISALABAD (Staff Report) – The 18th death anniversary of legendary singer Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is being observed today (Sunday).
He is also known as Shahenshah-e-Qawwali.
Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was born in Faisalabad. His first public performance was at the age of 16 years.
In 1987, he received Pride of Performance for his contribution to Pakistani music. In 1995, he was awarded with UNESCO Music Prize.
In 1996 he was awarded Grand Prix World Film Festival at Montreal for exceptional contribution to the art of cinema and several other awards.
