Priyanka Chopra to romance Salman Khan after ten years for 'Bharat'
MUMBAI - Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra is reuniting with co-star Salman Khan ten years after being on screen together. They starred together last in 'God Tussi Great Ho' (2008).

'Bharat' is a remake of the South Korean film, An Ode To My Father, and is helmed by Abbas Zafar. It will also be Priyanka's first Bollywood film after 'Jai Gangaajal'.

"Bharat it is! I’m looking forward to begin shooting this film and working with Salman and Ali again after a considerable time. I’ve learnt a lot from them in our previous collaborations and am excited to see what this one has to offer," said Priyanka in a press statement.

Taking Priyanka in the lead role opposite Salman Khan, Ali Abbas Zafar said, "Bharat is Priyanka’s homecoming to Bollywood after having proved herself as a performer in a global TV show, Quantico, and in Hollywood. Bharat is rooted in India and its culture, spans over seven decades and travels across the world. Priyanka is the biggest Indian artist globally today and a perfect fit for the film as she brings to the table her incredible talent and international appeal."

Speaking about Salman Khan bringing maturity to the film, Abbas said, "People tell me there’s a lot of maturity in my work now. May be that maturity has got to do because I’m working with Salman Khan who has so much experience. The text that I write kind of compliments (him) and he as a mature actor takes it to another level."

Bharat has started its prep in London, after which director Ali Abbas Zafar will move to Spain, Poland, Portugal, and Malta. The movie will span over 60 years, with Salman sporting five different looks.

Priyanka and Salman have earlier worked together in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Salaam-E-Ishq (2007) and God Tussi Great Ho (2008).

'Bharat' is set to release on Eid 2018.
