Sonu Nigam lands himself in some serious trouble

A lot has been rolling on the Sonu Nigam - Azaan bandwagon for a while now. According to reports, the singer took to Twitter once again, this time with a video of the sounds of the Azaan being heard from his home. This was in an attempt to prove his earlier statements against the use of loudspeakers for religious purposes.

Seems like Nigam has finally reached the last straw. His remarks on the Azaan have landed him in hot water as a case has just been filed against him for hurting religious sentiments.

An entertainment website states that petitioners Hemant Patil and Anwar Shaikh claimed Sonu to be paving way to enmity based on religion, race, and language divide.

The case has been filed under Section 152A, 295A and 296 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petition will be heard on April 28, 2017.

It should be noted here that the singer in his series of tweets went so far as to terming the sounds of the Azaan as 'forced religiousness'.
