ISLAMABAD – The Airport Security Force (ASF) arrested a foreign national after staving off a bid to smuggle narcotics out of the country in an operation at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Friday.

According to ASF officials, the passenger en route to Nigeria, had concealed around 1.5 kilogrammes of liquid heroin inside a shampoo bottle in his luggage. The market value of the contraband is said to be approximately Rs10 million.

The suspect was taken into custody and further investigations have been launched to unearth the gang.

Airport Security Force have intensified search operations at multiple airports across the country following a wave of smuggling bids and especially the heroin bust episode  at Heathrow airport that put management of national flag carrier in shame.
