Assistant Director NAB tortured in Azad Kashmir

MIRPUR (Web Desk) - A senior official of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was purportedly tortured in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir on Wednesday.

According to Samaa TV,  when a NAB team raided the residence of former AJK president Raja Zulqarnain.

NAB team raided the residence in connection with investigations of rental power scandal.

Former AJK president is being investigated for Rs128 million corruption reference while his son is already under custody.

Assistant Director NAB Asghar Khan was tortured by security guards posted at the residence.

Sardar Abid, AJK Information Minister, said that NAB has no jurisdiction in Azad Kashmir, which has its own anti-graft laws.

He said that the raid was carried out without any permission.

But a NAB spokesman maintained that the raid was conducted in accordance with the law, adding AJK government was also informed prior to the raid.
