ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan launched a tirade on Tuesday regarding his rumoured marriage in the backdrop of the media campaign focusing him and the Maneka family.

In a series of tweets visibly reflecting the emotional side of the fire-brand politician, Khan requested his staunch supporters to pray for his personal happiness, which he enjoyed for a few years.

The cricketer-turned-politician stated that he was aware of the ‘sordid personal lives’ of the former ruling family but would not stoop to that level.

He continued that the ‘vicious campaign’ launched against him on the pretext of his third marriage actually strengthened him.

Referring to the Chief Executive Officer of Jang Group and former Premier Nawaz Sharif, the lawmaker asserted that he was concerned about his children and the ‘conservative family of Bushra begum’.

The politician termed the media onslaught ‘gutter’ but hastened to add that it did not bother me.

The 65-year-old politician mused whether he had committed money laundering or was behind any ‘model-town-like killing spree’ for which he was being focused.

“I have done none of these but discovered I have committed a bigger crime: wanting to get married,” stated the legislator who was wed-locked twice though unsuccessfully.

Let it be known that Imran Khan’s rejoinder came after a report by leading daily The News claimed that the PTI leader had married for the third time, with his spiritual mentor, a claim rubbished by the party with the response that the lady was proposed only.
