Budget 2016-17: Federal cabinet, NEC meetings today

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) - The Federal Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Monday (today) to consider and approve the budget for the fiscal year 2016-17.

A meeting of the National Economic Council will also be held in Islamabad today to consider the proposed Annual Development Plan (ADP) and the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who is in UK for medical treatment would chair both the meetings via video link from Pakistan High Commission in London.

The decision to hold both meetings was taken at a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad.
