'CCI to take up population census issue in upcoming meeting'

TAXILA (Staff Report) - Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed has said that consensus on holding population census will be evolved in upcoming meeting of the Council of Common Interest.

Talking to newsmen in Taxila, the Minister unequivocally stated that hundred percent transparency has been ensured in all the projects initiated by the present government.

The Minister said during dictatorships, the information was concealed from the public and objectives were achieved through issuing ordinances. However, the incumbent government is resolving every national issue through consensus.

To another question, he said the government is not going to clip the wings of NAB. Rather discussion is underway for reforms in the body.

He said it is the government's responsibility to protect its officials and the Prime Minister expressed the reservations keeping that in view.
