COAS Bajwa announces to donate one-month salary to Diamer-Basha, Mohmand Dams Fund
RAWALPINDI - Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has announced to donate one-month salary for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams, according to the military media wing.

The Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor told the journalist during a press briefing on Tuesday that the army chief will donate one-month salary while officers of armed forces also wanted to donate more than two days salary for the national cause.

The army’s spokesman said that dams are necessary for Pakistan. “Whoever wants to contribute in this national cause, should come forward.”

The trend was started by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar who donated Rs1 million for the construction of dams.

Acting President Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani also announced a donation of Rs1.5 million in the funds meant for the construction of Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

Meanwhile, Habib Bank Ltd has announced to donate Rs 10 crore for the construction of dams while the employees of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) announced to contribute their one-day salary in the construction of Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

Officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government will contribute their three-day salary to the fund for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

Officials from Wapda and SNGPL have announced they will donate two days' salary to the fund, while employees from BPS 1-16 will donate one day's salary.

Furthermore, the officers of Finance Ministry will donate their three-day salary to the fund while the staff will contribute one-day salary for the national cause.

ACCOUNT DETAILS

The Ministry of Finance last week opened the account titled "DIAMER-BHASHA AND MOHMAND DAM FUND –2018" to accept funds for construction of the dams.

The account bears Account No.03-593-299999-001-4 and IBN No.PK06SBPP0035932999990014.

An SC announcement says that payments in the fund will be received at all branches of the State Bank of Pakistan, all treasuries and branches of the National Bank of Pakistan and all other scheduled banks.
