KARACHI (Staff Report) – Pakistan largest welfare foundation, Edhi Foundation, on Tuesday refused to accept aid from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a statement the spokesman said that Edhi Foundation has a policy to accept no donations from government or government run institutions. The foundation meets all of its financial needs through donations from common people.

The statement further added that Edhi Foundation has never received any funding from any government around the world.

Earlier On Monday the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi thanked the Edhi family for taking care of Geeta, an Indian girl who had crossed into Pakistan and provided shelter by the Edhi foundation for 13 years.

The Indian PM had also announced to donate Rs.10 million to Edhi foundation.

The Indian PM met Geeta in his office and expressed happiness over her return to India.
