Fawad Ch, Naeem ul Haque clash on Twitter over PTV management
ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan's closest aides, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and special assistant Naeem ul Haque engaged in a Twitter tiff on Wednesday in a brazen display of differences.

Naeem ul Haque took to the social media network and expressed that the prime minister had full confidence in the Board of Pakistan Television and it’s management and believes the institution should be an independent organisation.

Hours later, Fawad Ch replied and quoted a poetic verse of Mirza Ghalib, wondering the worth of the special assistant - in a veiled manner.

Soon afterwards, Naeem ul Haque took to the platform once again and fired a couple of tweets in response to Fawad Ch, without mentioning or naming him.

In another tweet, Haque addressed the 'newcomers in PTI' to follow the philosophy of Imran Khan; he did not mention anyone, however, his message was clearly aimed at the information minister who joined the party in 2016 as compared to him being the founding member.

PTI is a strong ideological movement and its success has been due to steadfast determination of its leader to pursue justice and fairness. Anyone thinking otherwise has no future in the party, Naeem ul Haque stated.

The core cause of conflict between the politicians is the management of state-owned Pakistan Television.

Fawad Chaudhry opines that the Managing Director of PTV, Arshad Khan should be replaced, however, Naeem ul Haque holds a different opinion on the matter.

The information minister recently paid a visit to PTV where he was welcomed by hundreds of workers - many of whom chanting slogans 'Go MD Go'.

Besides Twitter, Fawad Ch also displayed resentment against Naeem ul Haque in a conversation with media saying, some non-political individuals were sitting in the PM House.

The information minister also expressed that there should be no ban on unions under a democratically elected regime.

The writer is a civil servant.
