Former CJP Ajmal Mian dies at 83

KARACHI – The former Chief Justice of Pakistan Ajmal Mian breathed his last on Monday in Karachi.

According to the family sources, the funeral prayers for the deceased will be held in Mustafa Mosque in the Defence Housing Authority after which he will be laid to rest in the Mewa Shah graveyard.

Ajmal Mian served as the chief justice of the Supreme Court from December 23, 1997 to June 30, 1999. He was also appointed as the chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and other Supreme Court judges expressed condolences with the family of the justice.
