ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday said that the government would not increase the price of petroleum products during the month of Ramazan.

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad, he said that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had proposed an increase in the prices of petroleum products.

He added that previous prices would continue during June so that the common man is not unnecessarily burdened.

Earlier on May 30, OGRA had proposed major increases in the prices of petroleum products, which the government partially assented to. However, this is the first time in the ongoing year that the government has rejected OGRA’s pricing outright.
