LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has congratulated the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for winning the 2016 general elections in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

In a tweet, he said: “Even though traditionally party in power in Islamabad tends to win AJK elections, I would still like to congratulate PMLN for its AJK win”.

On the occasion, he also congratulated his party workers and the PTI’s winning candidates.

In Thursday’s general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, PML-N remained emerged victorious with 31 seats out of 41 while PPP and the Muslim Conference clinched 3 seats each. The PTI, on the other hand, won two seats in the polls.

This was the first time that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) contested polls in AJK.
