ISLAMABAD – The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was summoned on Tuesday by the Director General South Asia and SAARC and a vehement protest was lodged over the unprovoked ceasefire violations on October 23-24.

“It was conveyed to the Indian side that it should investigate the incident and share the findings with Pakistan, instruct its troops to respect the Ceasefire in letter and spirit, refrain from intentionally targeting the villages and maintain peace on the Working Boundary,” a statement said by Foreign Ministry’s spokesman.

The firing by the Indian occupation forces at the Working Boundary in Phuklian and Chaprar Sectors resulted in the martyrdom of two civilians including the one-and-a-half-year old baby girl. Six civilians were also injured as a result of the shelling from the Indian side.
