RAWALPINDI – A two-and-a-half-month-old baby girl, who was in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail with her prisoner mother, died on Friday after catching cold.

Iqra was reportedly not given medical treatment by the jail staff. The negligence of the officials forced the baby to succumb to the disease.

According to police, the dead body of Iqra has been handed over to her relatives after postmortem.

Her prisoner mother, Shazia was shifted to jail three days ago on judicial remand.
