ISLAMABAD – Awami Muslim League chief and Member of the National Assembly Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that the opposition parties movement would gain momentum within 25 days, and if any incident occurred then the army could intervene.

Expressing his views during a television program, Sheikh Rashid said the decision to start a movement was taken by 25 parties including the Awami Muslim League, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Muslim League (Q), Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and others.

They will stage protests on August 6, August 20, August 27 and August 30.

“It is possible that we may go to the Supreme Court. We are making a start and rallies and sit ins will be held,” he said.

On August 6, Muttahida Qaumi Movement will hold a protest, of which 25 25 parties will be a part, he said, adding that the Pakistan Peoples Party had yet to remove doubts about its role.

“When we will take to the streets the government will do mischief, which will cause an incident and a case will be registered against Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif,” Sheikh Rashid added.

He said their agenda can be different but on the issue of Panama Leaks and Qisas, they will be together. “Before August 6, I will take other leaders to Imran Khan,” he added.
