Pakistan condemns Istanbul bombings
ISLAMABAD/LONDON: Pakistan has strongly condemned the multiple suicide bombings at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, terming them a terrorist attack.

In a statement, Foreign office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said Pakistan had offered condolences to the bereaved families and the brotherly people and government of Turkey in its hour of grief.

He reiterated that Pakistan stood in solidarity with the people of Turkey in their fight against terrorism and is ready to extend help if asked by Ankara.

"Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all forms and manifestations and there is no doubt that this scourge would be decisively defeated with Turkey's iron will and unshakeable resolve," the statement added.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in a statement issued from London, denounced the suicide blasts in which several innocent people have lost their lives.

In the message, the premier also extended his heartfelt condolences to the Turkish government and the people on the loss of precious lives.

Expressing solidarity with the people of Turkey, Prime Minister condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

At least 36 people were killed are over 140 injured, when as many as three suicide bombers detonated themselves at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport on Tuesday night.

Pakistani currency saw minor adjustment against global currencies on April 19, 2024. US dollar was being quoted at 277.4 for buying and 280.4 for selling.

Euro comes down to 293 for buying and 296 for selling while British Pound stands at 342.25 for buying, and 345.65 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED was at 75.2 and Saudi Riyal's new rates was at 73.30.
