ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, through his spokesperson, has dismissed the reports about his ‘secret marriage’ to a fellow lawmaker.

Earlier this week, senior journalist Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain claimed the PML-N minister had “secretly married a fellow lawmaker which caused great annoyance to the First Lady, Begum Kalsoom Nawaz”.

Ghulam Hussain’s TV programme, DNA, is also credited for breaking the news of Imran-Reham’s marriage and subsequent divorce.

Although Hussain didn’t name the minister’s new wife, he highlighted her characteristics saying: “She is an industrious and intelligent MNA and used to move from one party to another on the basis of these qualities.”

Dar’s spokesman also refuted the claims that the minister had tried to get American citizenship for his children.

There has also been gossip about Khawaja Asif and Kashmala Tariq’s marriage for quite some time.

April last year, reports suggested Pakistan Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique had secretly married a PTV anchor, Dr Shafaq Hira, without the consent of his first wife.

In a report, Jehan Pakistan claimed the minister’s wife, Ms Ghazala Saad, became furious and threatened Saad Rafique to leave the house and her children.

Earlier, comedian Sohail Ahmed, best known as Azizi, had also disclosed Saad-Shafaq’s marriage in his programme Hasb-e-Haal.
