Pakistan Post launches new 72-hour global service for small traders
ISLAMABAD — Pakistan Post has launched an export parcel service - ‘EMS Plus’ - for small traders to deliver their consignments in foreign countries within 72 hours.

Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed formally inaugurated the service in a ceremony at the Pakistan Post head office over the weekend.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Media Affairs Iftikhar Durrani, Secretary Postal Services Pir Baksh Khan Jamali and Director General of Pakistan Post Naseer Ahmed Khan were also present on the occasion.



This service, which had been initially launched as a pilot project in Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Lahore, parcels of up to 30 kilograms can be booked for six countries, including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Japan, United Kingdom, Thailand, and Australia.

The parcels would be shipped to the designated countries same day by air.

The service would be extended to other foreign countries in the second phase, said Saeed

Initially, the service was to be launched for the entire world, however, due to some technical problems it was started for six countries, he added.

Pakistan Post, last month, announced their mobile application that provides a range of services like Complaint handling, Real-time track, and trace, E-commerce delivery, Parcel Collection, Tariff, Post Office locations, Post-codes and information about postal services.

Currency Rates in Pakistan Today - Pakistani rupee to US Dollar, Euro, Pound, Dirham, and Riyal - 19 April 2024

Pakistani currency saw minor adjustment against global currencies on April 19, 2024. US dollar was being quoted at 277.4 for buying and 280.4 for selling.

Euro comes down to 293 for buying and 296 for selling while British Pound stands at 342.25 for buying, and 345.65 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED was at 75.2 and Saudi Riyal's new rates was at 73.30.
