Petition to put Sharif family's name on ECL approved for hearing

ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday approved a petition for hearing seeking an order to put the names of ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family on Exit Control List (ECL).

As per reports, a single-member bench will start hearing the case on Monday.

The applicant stated that the top court had disqualified Nawaz Sharif for concealing his job, besides directing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file references against Sharif family within six weeks initiating criminal investigations against them.

The petitioner asked the court to put their names on ECL, besides seizing their bank accounts.

The former prime minister's children, Captain Safdar and Ishar Dar have been made respondent in the case.
