ISLAMABAD – Name of Pakistan International Airlines’ Chief Executive Officer Bernd Hildenbrand has been placed on Exit Control (ECL) list, secretary aviation said on Wednesday.
The CEO’s name will remain on the list till the completion of further investigation against him that is being conducted by Federal investigation Agency (FIA).
The directive to place CEO’s name under ECL has been signed and issued by Deputy Director FIA Admin Lahore Khawaja Hammad ur Rehman, Geo News reported.
The CEO is facing an inquiry for allegedly purchasing expensive jets from a Sri Lankan airline. It is alleged that PIA lost several million dollars as a result of the extravagant deal.
A notification in this regard has been posted on all the major airports that Hildenbrand should not be allowed to depart from the country.
