KARACHI – A police constable was gunned down early Friday in the first targeted attack of 2018 near North Nazimabad’s Landi Kotal Chowrangi.
According to police, the deceased official, identified as Shakir, was going to Gulberg Police Station to report for duty when two unidentified attackers on a motorcycle shot him dead. Shakir died on the spot after being shot in the head.
Confirming the death of the constable in the firing incident, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Central Irfan Baloch said it appeared to be a case of target killing.
He said that two empty 9-millimetre bullets were recovered from the crime scene.
Following the incident, Sindh Inspector General Police A.D. Khawaja has asked the subordinate to submit a report of the incident.
