ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday designated 2nd of November as its new date  for sit-in in Islamabad.

According to media details, leaders of PTI held a meeting in Islamabad today to reschedule the party’s planned siege of Islamabad. Earlier, it was scheduled for October 30.

Talking to reporters in the capital, Imran Khan said, “Why are we holding this protest? Because a prime minister has been caught doing corruption. What do we want? A resignation or an investigation.”

“Nawaz Sharif should be held accountable like the prime minister of Iceland who was also named in the Panama Papers,” PTI chairman demanded.

The date has been deferred as it coincided with the annual election of the Supreme Court Bar Association scheduled to be held on Oct 31.

Khan said the lawyers had conveyed their concerns about the planned siege of the capital on Oct 30 which could disturb their election.

PTI chief had announced the plan to lay siege to Islamabad as part of the party’s accountability movement against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and members of his family in the wake of the Panama leaks.
