Quetta: Policeman martyred, two injured in firing incident

QUETTA - One policeman was martyred while two others were left injured in a firing incident on Faqir Mohammad Road of Quetta city on Friday.

According to the Senior Superintendent Police Operations, the policeman was in a precarious condition when he was brought to the hospital but unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds.

The injured including a bystander are being treated at Civil Hospital, Quetta, according to rescue officials.

The firing incident happened on a day when the suspected facilitator of the 2016 Civil Hospital bombing was killed in a shootout by the Counter Terrorism Department in Quetta.

Police officials said the encounter that took place on Qambrani Road led to the death of Asfandyar while another accomplice was arrested.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawaz Sanaullah Zehri appreciated the police operation.
