KARACHI – A senior politician of Sindh and landlord Sardar Taj Muhammad Domki has claimed to impose a fine of Rs 1.8 million on culprits while settling a 12-year-old maid’s gang rape case in a Jirga, which is also being heard by Supreme Court.

Apparently showing dissatisfaction over the judicial system during a press conference in Kandhkot, Domki said that the victim could not get justice from courts; therefore, he intervened in the case.

He further said that maid’s father had claimed in the FIR that there was no gang rape.

When contacted local police regarding the decision of a jirga in the case, police officer Muhammad Mosa claimed that he does not know about it.

After the incident, the girl and her parents reached Kandhko police station on May 9 to register a case in which seven suspects including Rahib Saharyani, his two sons and nephews were nominated.

The victim claimed that four men earlier drugged her and then raped her.

According to police, the medical reports show that the girl was raped, however, there were no torture marks on the girl’s body.

On May 11, Chief Justice of Pakistan took notice of the 12-year-old maid who was allegedly raped by her employer and four others in Karachi.
